Cameroon’s first open-age national competition, the Cameroon Championship, is set to kick off next month, with a double header at the Stade Annexe in the Cameroon national capital, Yaounde.
The five team tournament will run from April 14, with representatives from Douala, Babadjou and Yaounde to take part in a round-robin competition before being joined by the Garoua based Sahel Rugby League club.
In additional to Sahel, other participants in the inaugural competition include the Douala based Black Boys club, Babadjou Rugby League, plus the Bulls and Institut Petou clubs from Yaounde.
The competition will run until June, with a number of regional nine-a-side competitions to take place both during and after the season.
Further details, including the draw for the Cameroon Championship will be released shortly.
